Stem separation (also called source separation or music demixing) is the process of using artificial intelligence to split a mixed audio recording into its individual components. A single song can be separated into vocals, drums, bass, guitar, piano and other instruments, each as its own isolated audio file called a "stem".
This technology uses deep learning models trained on thousands of multi-track recordings to predict and isolate each instrument from the combined mix. The state-of-the-art AI models used in this tool deliver studio-quality results that were impossible just a few years ago.
