1. How StemConsole handles copyright
StemConsole is a practice and production tool. People upload recordings they have the right to use, split them into stems, and practise or mix with the result. Under our Terms of Service, everyone who uploads must have the right to process that audio and must not use the Service to infringe anyone's rights.
A share link opens a song in the practice room for listening. The page offers downloads only to the person who split the song, not to people who open a link. Shared songs are not listed anywhere on the site, are excluded from search engines, and are deleted automatically after about 90 days unless they are part of an active setlist.
2. Reporting infringement
If you own a copyright, or act for someone who does, and believe a song shared through StemConsole infringes it, email [email protected] with the subject "Copyright notice". Please include:
- The work you say is infringed (title, artist, and who owns the rights).
- The StemConsole link or links you are reporting, in full.
- Your name, organisation if any, and an email address and phone number.
- A statement that you believe in good faith the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
- A statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner.
- Your physical or electronic signature (typing your full name is enough).
These are the elements of a notice under section 512(c)(3) of the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We accept notices from rights holders in any country.
3. What we do with a notice
We act on complete notices promptly, normally within two business days. We delete the reported stems from our storage, which also ends every link to them, and we record the removal against the account that made the split. Where we have an email address for that account we tell them what was removed and why.
4. Repeat infringers
An account that is the subject of repeated valid notices is suspended from splitting and may be closed, including paid accounts.
5. Contesting a removal
If your song was removed and you believe that was a mistake, for example you own the recording or hold a licence, email [email protected] with the subject "Counter notice". Include the link that was removed, your name, address and phone number, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the material was removed by mistake or misidentification, your consent to the jurisdiction of the courts where you live, and your signature. We pass counter notices to the person who complained. Removed files are deleted, so restoring a song means splitting it again; we credit the split back where a removal is reversed.
6. Removing your own song
You can delete a song you split at any time: open it signed in as the account that split it, or in the browser that split it, choose Share, then Delete song and link. The stems are removed from our storage and the link stops working for everyone.
7. Misuse
Knowingly false notices and counter notices can carry legal liability. We may disregard notices that are incomplete, automated without review, or made in bad faith.
