StemConsole for ChatGPT: data & privacy

Last updated: 18 October 2026

This page covers the StemConsole app in ChatGPT. It supplements the StemConsole privacy policy, which applies to everything else. ChatGPT’s own handling of your conversation is covered by OpenAI’s privacy policy.

What is shared and why

Connecting authorizes StemConsole to identify your account and its plan, so the app can use your allowance and show the features your plan includes. We keep a record of the connection (the app’s name, when it was connected and last used, and when it was disconnected) to run and secure it.

Requested tools access your account’s song names, processing status and audio files, to split, list, play and export your songs. When you ask to split a ChatGPT attachment, its download address, filename and audio are sent to StemConsole to create the stems. The app does not request your conversation history.

The player downloads the selected song’s audio to your browser to play, mix and analyse it. Bounce mix, stem downloads, tempo maps and click tracks are generated in your browser. Choosing Prepare download uploads that generated file to private StemConsole storage so ChatGPT can offer an HTTPS download. No upload happens until you choose that action.

Providers and access

Cloudflare serves the interface, routes tool requests and export uploads, and stores your audio files and prepared downloads. Modal processes audio and serves downloads. Supabase holds account, connection and song records. OpenAI hosts the ChatGPT conversation and receives tool results, including song names and audio links. The player loads no Google Analytics or other tracking scripts. StemConsole’s servers record usage events, such as a split started through ChatGPT, with your account email, as the main privacy policy describes.

Links

Song and download links work for anyone who has them. Links that tools return stay in your ChatGPT conversation, and disconnecting the app does not stop links already there from working. Deleting the song ends access to its audio. Prepared download links expire within two hours.

Retention and your controls

Songs follow the main policy: stems and previews are normally deleted automatically after about 90 days. Songs in an account’s setlists are kept while that account remains Pro. Its own songs shared with a practice setup are kept for about 90 days after the setup was last shared or opened by someone else, while the account remains Pro. Prepared downloads are deleted automatically, normally within 30 hours of being prepared. Dismissing a download removes it from the player, not from storage.

Disconnecting the app stops ChatGPT from making new requests to your account; it does not delete your songs. A player that is already open can still prepare downloads until about midday UTC the next day. Connection records are kept, marked as disconnected, until your account is deleted.

To delete your account and its data, or ask for a copy, email [email protected]. Account deletion also removes prepared downloads. Do not send passwords or private download links.
